But if files are converted to MIF before checking in, you get the advantages of having much smaller diff files (and smaller SVN space) and if you then integrate something like WinMerge into the operation as you can with Tortoise SVN you can also inspect changes in MIF and do merges (provided you know what you're doing with MIF). There are some nice tools that will do the MIF conversion for you.  Or of course, these days, you could also use XML...</description>
